According to the results of a recent survey, the UEFA European Championship is the primary reason why Kosovars travel. According to the poll, which had 3,050 participants, one of the main reasons Kosovars plan to travel in 2024 is the impending sporting event in Germany.

Apart from the UEFA EURO 2024, the attraction of musical events held in different European Union locations is another motivating element for the growing interest in visiting the EU in 2024. Interestingly, Germany is the top destination for Kosovars traveling within the EU, according to 28.3% of respondents.

While respondents prioritize seeing parks, beaches, and outdoor activities (67.3%), they also indicate that they would like to visit museums, engage in cultural immersion (59.6%), sample the cuisine (40.8%), and go shopping (39.2%) while traveling in the EU.

According to their preferences for lodging, 49.2% choose hotels, 47.1% intend to travel with loved ones, and 3.7% would rather stay with friends. 67.3% of respondents said they would be spending more this year due to anticipated increases in travel expenses. In contrast, 21.2% of respondents are still unsure about higher spending, and 11.4% say they won’t go over prior spending levels that came before visa liberalization.

While a sizeable percentage (42%) has not yet started to plan a trip, 18% have been saving hard for up to three months in order to get ready for their trips in 2024. As the most popular means of transportation, planes are selected by 2,280 respondents, ahead of cars (410), buses (280), and trains (80). Travel for tourism takes the top spot (1,780), outpacing both business trips (150) and family visits (910).

While 26.1% have not yet started their preparations, Kosovars are planning their destinations (54.3%) and creating a budget (44.5%) for their travels in 2024. Furthermore, 28.2% look into other lodging choices, and 33.1% actively hunt for cheap airline tickets.
