Flights in Berlin, Hamburg, and Frankfurt are canceled due to a massive airport strike in Germany.

Due to a workers’ strike, German airports are currently at a halt. Lufthansa has recommended travelers to stay at home. Airports including Hamburg, Berlin Brandenburg, Bremen, Hannover, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Dresden, Erfurt, Frankfurt, Leipzig, and Stuttgart have been impacted by the walkout, which was started by security workers demanding greater pay. Because security checkpoints are closed at certain airports, Lufthansa advises travelers with flights departing from these locations not to arrive. The strike has caused significant disruptions and cancellations at Berlin Brandenburg, Hamburg, and Frankfurt airports, affecting flights between 3 am on February 1 and 3 am on February 2. It is recommended that travelers look into other possibilities and verify the status of their flights. Customers of Lufthansa can rebook for free within a predetermined window of time, and for certain domestic flights, there are train choices. The Federal Association of Aviation Security Companies and Union Verdi negotiated a deal that led to the strike. The strikers’ main demands are for better bonuses and overtime compensation, as well as greater wages to combat inflation. The talks are scheduled to go back up on February 6-7.
