Three sites in Europe were among the top five most hospitable destinations for 2024, according to Booking.com’s analysis of 309 million customer reviews. The rankings took into account a number of variables, including activities, standards of accommodations, friendliness, and transportation options, including vehicle rentals.

Recipient establishments received more evaluations than average, complimenting them on their outstanding friendliness and service. Hotels, vacation rentals, and transportation providers received a combined 1.48 million accolades from Booking.com’s Traveller Review accolades for 2024. Europe was home to several of the nations with the most number of award recipients; Italy was first, followed by Spain, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Poland, Brazil, the US, Croatia, and Portugal were among the top ten countries.

Four of the top ten most hospitable cities in the world in 2024 were found in Europe, making the continent the dominant contender. Arraial d’Ajuda in Brazil, Ermoupoli in Greece, Viana do Castelo in Portugal, Daylesford in Australia, and Grindelwald in Switzerland were the top five friendly cities.

With its renowned peaks like the Eiger and Jungfrau, and its spectacular alpine views, Grindelwald, Switzerland, is the seventh most inviting place in the world. Journey to the ‘Top of Europe’ with the Jungfraujoch cogwheel train, offering breathtaking views of the glaciers and mountain peaks. In the winter, the area offers top-notch skiing and snowboarding, while in the summer, there are countless hiking paths.

Seventh-place Uzès, France, impressed with its medieval elegance, complete with cobblestone lanes and historical sites. The Duchy Palace, the Place aux Herbes town plaza, and the yearly Les Nuits Musicales d’Uzès festival, which features jazz and classical music performances, are some of the town’s attractions. The charming Gard region, which is home to olive trees and vineyards, can be reached from Uzès.
