Bulgaria Air announces changes to the terminal as of March 31 in preparation for its entry into “Air Schengen.”

Prague, Madrid, and Rome airports will all have new terminals. Passengers flying with Bulgaria Air will no longer use Terminal 3 at Fiumicino Airport in Rome, but rather Terminal 1 and the authorized Schengen zone (A1-83) as of March 31. This includes bag drop-off, connecting flights, and flight registration.

The most recent Leonardo da Vinci Airport-Fiumicino, Rome Airport Map provides travelers with comprehensive terminal information.

Additionally, Bulgaria Air aircraft will now arrive and depart from the current T4S to Terminal 4 at Barajas Airport in Madrid. On that day, passengers should head to gates H, J, and K, which are reserved for Bulgarian planes, arriving as well as departing.

Visit the official Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas website for information on transit between terminals.

Due to Bulgaria’s membership in Air Schengen, there will be a change in the check-in and incoming connection aircraft terminal in Prague, the capital of Czechia.

Beginning on April 1st, when summer officially begins, flights to and from Bulgaria will be handled at Terminal 2 of Vaclav Havel Airport Prague. Prague’s airport website has a detailed map showing the terminals and available transportation.

Ryanair will operate the first flight to Bulgaria as a member of Schengen. First flight to land at Sofia Airport after becoming a part of “air Schengen” is scheduled to be a Ryanair flight from Nepales at 0:20 am, according to a report from Sofia Globe. At the same time, a Ryanair aircraft from Krakow will arrive at Bourgas Airport at 10:20 am, a Wizzair flight from Berlin will arrive at Vrana Airport at 1:25 am, and a Ryanair flight from London will arrive at Plovdiv Airport at 3:00 pm.

Bulgaria is ready to enter Schengen by air and sea, according to announcements made earlier this month by Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov. New passport-checking regulations will go into effect on March 31, 2024.

Self-scanning for boarding permits has just been implemented at Sofia Airport, expediting the travel procedure.
