Top 20 Jobs That Provide Access to a German Work Permit.

The Institute for Employment Research reports that 1.98 million job vacancies are now present in Germany. There is a severe labor shortage in the country in industries including construction, farming, and transportation.

Germany has historically depended on immigrant labor to support its economy due to its aging population, which is 45 years old on average, and low birth rate of 1.53 per woman. Some professions continue to struggle to attract skilled foreign workers even with continual revisions to immigration laws that facilitate entry to the labor market for foreigners and refugees.

By starting the process of getting a work visa, those who want to live and work in Germany can benefit from this labor shortage. Livestock farming, forestry, horticulture, tire and vulcanization technology, wood-related occupations, metalworking, automation, surveying, scaffolding, interior construction, glazing, pipeline construction, plant construction, maintenance of railway infrastructure, freight forwarding, logistics, operating earthmoving machinery, and different sales roles are among the industries in need of skilled workers.

The following are the annual salary and hourly pay for particular roles as reported by the Economic Research Institute (ERI):

Workers at crop farms make €17 per hour or €35,616 per year.

Technicians in forestry: €18 per hour, €36,791 annually

Growers of horticultural speciality: €36,913 annually, or €18 per hour

Visas may be needed for non-German nationals in order to work in Germany. Without a visa, workers in Germany are permitted to be citizens of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the European Free Trade Association. Passport holders from Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, the USA, and South Korea are permitted entry, but they will need to apply for a residency permit when they get there.

According to a report published by EURES, there is a labor shortage in 29 European countries, with a particular focus on software, healthcare, construction, and engineering. On the other hand, there is an excess of labor in 24 countries, primarily in the fields of elementary education, humanities, and the arts.

Germany’s cost of living varies according to city, region, and size of family. The estimated monthly expenses for an individual are €967.6, not including rent.
