Savoring Suds: Discovering Europe’s Best Bargain Beer Spots from Sofia to Tbilisi”

According to recent research, there are notable differences in the cost of a pint of beer between various locations in Europe.

The expense of living in Europe is rising as summer draws near, and this also applies to enjoying a cool beverage outside.

A recent study by the German online travel comparison and booking site Omio identified the capital cities of Europe where you can get reasonably priced beer while taking in the scenery and warm weather.

When it comes to places where you can have a great pint without going over budget, Minsk is the best option, with pints costing slightly more than €1. Even though there are now certain obstacles to overcome when visiting Belarus, the appeal of €1.05 pints makes it an irresistible addition to your holiday schedule.

If you head south to Moldova, the second most affordable place to go is Chisinau, where a pint often costs only €1.29. Chisinau has a lot to offer outside of the bar scene, such as the Arcul De Triumf, Kishinev Cathedral, and Stephen the Great Central Park.

Beer costs in capital cities that are a little bit off the beaten path are usually the most affordable. Pints cost €1.35, €1.69, and €1.83 in Baku, Azerbaijan; €1.69, Tbilisi, Georgia; and Yerevan, Armenia, respectively.

With an average pint price of €1.93, Sofia in Bulgaria is a great option for travelers who like more well-known locations. Whether you’re visiting historical sites like St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral or enjoying a vibrant minibreak, Sofia guarantees cost without sacrificing quality.

As an added bonus, pints in Skopje, a burgeoning North Macedonian attraction, cost €1.93. Beyond its picturesque mountain scenery, North Macedonia is becoming more popular with those who want to discover the undiscovered beauties of the Balkan region.

With pint prices of €1.99 in Kosovo and €2.04 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, respectively, Pristina and Sarajevo follow closely behind. Finally, Prague in the Czech Republic, which is well known for its extensive tourism, has pints that average €1.86. This means you’ll have enough of money left over for additional exploring.

Conversely, Omio’s analysis shows that Reykjavik is the most expensive place to find beer, with pints coming in at a whopping €10.03. Given the region’s relatively higher cost of living, the Nordic capitals—Oslo, Helsinki, Copenhagen, and Stockholm—also rank among the most costly.

Brexit-related price hikes have also affected Britons; London is the most expensive city in the world for beer, with an average price tag of €7.57 per pint, even higher than Monaco’s €7.47. Dublin, Paris, and Bern all make appearances, highlighting the general trend of rising beer costs throughout Europe.

Depending on your budget and preference for the drink, careful planning is advised to prevent sticker shock while paying the bill, as no location on the pricey list offers pints for less than €6.50 on average.
