EU Denies Entry Permits to Six Individuals Associated with Israel-Attacking Activities.

Six people whose entrance rights were revoked by the Council of the European Union were determined to have supported violent acts and provided financial assistance to Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Furthermore, three entities have also been subject to restrictive measures for comparable grounds, as stated by the Commission.

The assets of every person or organization placed on the EU’s list of sanctioned parties will be frozen.

In addition, even with valid visas, the individuals on the list are now prohibited from entering the Schengen Area or the European Union due to an entry prohibition.

Businesses and People Currently listed under sanctions

The three businesses added to the EU’s list of sanctions are Al Zawaya Group for Development and Investment Sociedad limitada, Larrycom for Investment Ltd., and Zawaya Group for Development and Investment Co Ltd., according to the Council.

The assets of these companies will be blocked, and funding from EU companies and citizens will not be permitted.

In terms of specific people, Hamas’s foreign investment chief, Ahmed Sharif Abdallah Odeh, has been sanctioned. The sanction list now includes Maher Rebhi Obeid, Ismail Barhoum, Ali Morshed Shirazi, and Zuheir Shamlakh.

Each of these people has their assets frozen and is not allowed to enter the EU or the Schengen Area.

EU denounced Hamas’s attacks throughout Israel In October of last year

The indiscriminate and repeated attacks by Hamas throughout Israel were denounced in an official statement released by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy on October 7, 2023.

A framework of restrictive measures was also developed by the Council on January 19, 2024, to hold anyone responsible for their support, encouragement, or facilitation of violent actions by Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
